ABOUT MARC HUMPHREY
My journey into wildlife photography began as a burning passion that I could only indulge in on occasional weekends while working a corporate sales job in London. For four years, I felt the need for a new beginning and to properly get into the natural world. In 2021, I finally made that leap, trading the office for the outdoors and embarking on a four-month solo expedition through France and Costa Rica. It was there that I truly began taking photography seriously.
When I returned to the UK, the path forward wasn't immediately clear. I knew I wanted photography to be my career, but it took a determined year of trial and exploration before I launched my first workshop. A further six months later, I committed to photography full-time. Since that transition, I have developed a wide range of specialised UK workshops, run international tours, and my work has been commended and recognised with major wildlife photography awards.
Today, I’m a professional wildlife photographer based in Bristol, but you’re more likely to find me sat on the riverbank in the Peak District or photographing exotic wildlife further afield. For me, photography isn’t just about the 'perfect' frame - it’s about the fieldcraft, the ethics of the encounter, and the privilege of sharing these moments with others. Whether through my YouTube channel or my in-field workshops, my goal is to help you master your gear and find your own deep connection to the wild.

Ethics First Approach
The welfare of the subject always comes before the photograph. Responsible fieldcraft and a non-intrusive approach are at the core of my photography and teaching.
This isn't just a philosophy; it’s a non-negotiable part of how I work and teach. This ethical foundation ensures we capture authentic behaviour and preserve these incredible encounters for others.
Curious about the gear that
powers my photography?
Wildlife doesn't wait for fair weather. That's why I rely on the weather-sealed ruggedness and pro-level features of the OM System. My setup gives me the portability and reach I need to capture intimate moments without compromise.
