All Workshops

Wildlife photography can take a long time to master—from getting to grips with camera settings to finding the time to track down key species and scout the perfect locations. Luckily, this is what I do for a living, so you can utilise all of my research to get the absolute most out of your day. Whether you want to experiment with new creative techniques or polish your technical skills, I am a total open book during our time together and happy to answer any questions you have about the craft.

Please keep in mind that wildlife photography is a game of patience, and nature rarely offers a script. While I use my years of fieldcraft to place you in the absolute best positions at the peak times of year, these are entirely wild, free-roaming animals. I do not use enclosures, baited sites (unless explicitly stated, like the little owl hide), or tethered subjects. Every image you see on this site is a product of genuine wild encounters. While I always aim to help you capture spectacular shots, every single day out on the moors, cliffs, or rivers brings its own unique, unpredictability.

  • Ensuring that wildlife ethics remain an absolute priority is central to every session I run; the welfare of my subjects always comes first.

I also believe in actively giving back to the environments we visit. I bring a bin bag to every single workshop to clear away any litter in the area, ensuring we leave the location in a better condition than when we arrived.

To directly support the species and habitats you photograph, £10 from every single workshop booking is donated directly to a relevant local environmental or wildlife charity. By booking a session, you are actively contributing to the following projects:

    • Beavers & Little Owls: Kent Wildlife Trust (Nature Regeneration Fund)

    • Dippers: Derbyshire Wildlife Trust

    • Grey Seals: RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre

    • Mountain Hares & Red Grouse: Protect Our Peatlands Campaign

    • Peregrine Falcons & Wall Lizards: Avon Needs Trees and Hedgerow Heroes

  • Ad-Hoc & Alternative Dates: Can't make the listed dates work? I can run many of my workshops on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year. If you have a specific date in mind, please drop me an email with your preferred timing and I will do my absolute best to arrange a custom session for you.

Wildlife Watchers Welcome: You don't need a massive camera lens to enjoy these days out. I design all of my workshops to be 100% suitable for wildlife watchers and nature enthusiasts who simply want an intimate, expert-guided encounter with these incredible UK species.

Group Bookings: If you are a member of a camera club, part of a group of friends, or looking for a bespoke corporate day out, I am always happy to arrange custom group bookings. Please get in touch with me directly to discuss tailored itineraries and group pricing.

Bringing a Non-Photographer Partner: I am more than happy for non-shooting partners to join you completely free of charge on many of my workshops to share the experience. Please just make sure you ask before booking, as there are certain workshops where this won’t be possible.

  • Unless specified on the workshop page:

Full guidance and tuition throughout the session.

A hot drink to keep us going.

A free, high-quality 8" x 12" print of your favourite photo from the session, printed and posted directly to you.
