Itinerary

5 nights - Self catering accommodation in Arles

Day 1: Arrival in Marseille - Pick up from Marseille airport, followed by a stop at a local supermarket to stock up on supplies. After settling into our accommodation near Arles, we will do an evening drive through the Camargue if time allows.

Day 2 to 5: Camargue Wetlands - Our exact itinerary for these days will depend entirely on wildlife activity & weather, but our main priorities will be:

  • Capturing Cranes at sunrise.

  • An afternoon to sunset session dedicated to Flamingos.

  • An afternoon to sunset session at a reserve for Glossy Ibis and other wetland birdlife.

  • A morning/afternoon session photographing Wallcreepers on local stone walls.

  • Sunrise/sunset shoots on the salt flats with Flamingos.

2 nights - Self catering accommodation in the Verdon Gorge

Day 6: Arles to Verdon Gorge - Breakfast and then drive to the Verdon Gorge. We will head straight to the canyon viewpoints to photograph Griffon and Black Vultures until sunset.

Day 7: Verdon Gorge - A late morning drive to look for and photograph resident eagles, vultures, and choughs. The afternoon and evening will be spent focusing on flight photography with the vultures along the cliff edges.

Day 8: Departure - Breakfast and then drive back to Marseille airport for our flights home.

As this is wildlife photography, please allow for some minor changes in the itinerary depending on what is deemed best with current wildlife activity & weather to maximise our chances for photography.
